The FloorMan installs wood floors. The FloorMan does tile flooring installation. The FloorMan hand-scrapes wood flooring.Sometimes we get to do all of it in the same home.
This family bought a home in Flower Mound, Texas but wanted to remodel before they moved in. This gave The FloorMan a opportunity to do several different kinds of installation.
There was an extant red oak floor, but it wasn’t the “right” color. There was engineered wood flooring in the family room that didn’t fit in with the customer’s vision.
There was carpet that was surrounded by hardwood flooring that had seen better days. Finally, there was engineered flooring in the kitchen and nook and exercise room.
The first task was to remove the unwanted flooring – the carpet and the engineered wood was removed, and the floor was properly prepped.
Where the carpet had been, the crew installed a ¾” plywood subfloor and then nailed down some ¾” solid red oak (#1 short boards).
While that new raw wood floor was acclimating to it’s new surroundings, our tile-man put in 600 square feet of multi-sized tile in a Modified Hopscotch pattern. (The tiles came in 6 inch, 12 inch and 18 inch squares.)
After the tile was down, we sanded, handscraped and stained the old and new red oak flooring to match, 1400 square feet in all. After three coats of polyurethane, a brand new look shone in this gorgeous home and it was ready to enjoy.
We love happy customers. Kudos to Bryan and his crew
